Welcome to the Service Mindset Training (SMT)
This interactive, electronic training programme is designed to improve the communication & coordination skills of humanitarian logisticians. This in turn should improve the quality of partnerships between humanitarian organizations and ultimately the delivery of assistance to the beneficiary. The SMT provides humanitarian logisticians with a realistic approach to service mindset principles and how they can be applied in the context of field and logistics cluster operations.
Four Steps to Access the SMT
- Organizations nominate a Focal Point - Please verify if your organization has already appointed a Focal Point. If so, you may stop here and contact this colleague for access. If not, a Focal Point will need to be appointed to proceed to the next step. Please refer to the attahed document for a listing of current Focal Points.
- The Focal Point submits an application for the SMT progamme - An application only needs to be submitted once on behalf of an organization. Please verify if a copy of the SMT already exists within your organization. If not, the Focal Point may either download and complete an application or submit an application directly online.
- A Logistics Cluster Administrator will process the application - You will receive a confirmation notice when your application has been received for processing.
- The SMT package is sent to the Focal Point - The package includes a presentation on the SMT and the key for a single download of the programme, and data collection and reporting templates. The Focal Point may tailor the internal distribution of the programme according to the organization's needs.
General Principle Points
- Organizations involved in humanitarian work can request a copy of the training.
- The training is being disseminated through this website via organization focal points in order to allow for the collection of data on the number of users and the impact/ usefulness of the training. Therefore it will be important to periodically collect information and feedback on the use of the training from organization focal points. The Logistics Cluster will contact organization focal points after an initial three months and then every six months thereafter.
- Organisation focal points will be provided with tools to support them with the collection of feedback from users of the training.
- In effort to support the evaluation of usage and impact, organizations and participants are requested not to share the training to with organizations, but rather to refer interested parties to the Logistics Cluster Website instead.
- There will be limited technical and content support - we kindly request that inquiries be channeled to the Logistics Cluster through the organization focal point. Focal points should contact the Logistics Cluster Administrators for all technical or content requests at: smt.support@wfp.org
